### Organise your image library into albums
Total CMS keeps every image in one long list, which gets hard to manage once a site has a few hundred. Snap Albums lets you sort them into albums, the way you would in a photo app, and show any album on your pages as a gallery. An image can be in as many albums as you like, and albums never move, copy or change your images. It's for anyone with a growing image library: project photos, events, products, or a portfolio.
### What it adds
Snap Albums adds an Albums page to your admin sidebar:
- Albums: your albums as cards with a cover image. Make, rename and describe albums, and drag them into order.
- All images and Unsorted: every image, newest first, and the ones that aren't in an album yet, with search on image names and alt text.
- Fast sorting: click to select images (Shift-click for a run, or select every result at once), then add them to albums, move them or remove them. On a wider screen, drag images straight onto an album in the list beside them.
- Undo after any change, for 15 minutes.
- Album order and covers: each album keeps its own order, and you choose its cover image.
- A ready-made gallery for your pages, with options for size, shape, captions and links. Three Twig functions let you build your own instead.
### Setting it up
Upload the zip in Settings → Extensions, enable it, and open Snap Albums in the sidebar. Make an album, select some images and add them. To show an album on a page, add one line:
{% include '@speedyweb-snap-albums/public/gallery.twig' with {album: 'kitchen-reno'} %}
### Good to know
- Free, on any edition of Total CMS 3.6 or later.
- It organises Total CMS's image collection, and any other image collection you name in its settings.
- Albums are kept in Snap Albums' own data file. Your images are never moved, copied or changed, and a deleted image simply leaves its albums.
- By default only admins can use the Albums page. A setting lets editors in too, and they only see the image collections their access group can read.
- It handles thousands of images: long lists show 120 a page.
- Updates install from the Snap Albums page in one click, checksum-verified.
- Support: [email protected]
Get the zip from Speedy Websites (opens in a new tab), then drop it on Install Extension on the admin’s Extensions screen. It stays off until you enable it. Or from the command line:
tcms extension:install ~/Downloads/snap-albums.zip
