The wireframe of a home page: the layout, the page template, and the blocks placed in each area.

See how any page is built

Pixel Plan draws a wireframe of any Site Builder page: the layout around it, the page template that draws it, the partials it pulls in, and the content blocks and collections its words come from. It's for anyone who looks after a Total CMS site, whether you built it last month or inherited it from someone else, and want to know "where do I change this?" without opening every template.

What it adds

Pixel Plan adds one page to your admin sidebar. Pick a page and it's drawn from the outside in. Every part is labelled by where you change it: orange for Site Builder files (the design), green for collections (the words). Block areas show the blocks placed in them, in order, with their type. It only reads your site and never changes anything, so it's safe to open any time. Nothing is added to your public site.

Pixel Plan Pro adds:

- Click-through editing: every template, partial, block and collection in the wireframe opens its editor in a new tab.

- Site map: every page on one sheet, grouped by layout and template. Download it as PNG, PDF, SVG or Markdown for a handover document or a quote.

- Checks: the loose ends a site collects. That means pages pointing at missing templates, includes that point at nothing, blocks with no partial for their type, blocks placed on no page, and unused partials, layouts and templates.

Setting it up

Upload the zip in Settings → Extensions, enable it, and open Pixel Plan in the sidebar. That's it. If your theme uses content blocks, the Block conventions setting tells Pixel Plan how your theme names its block partials and areas. The defaults suit the Speedy Websites theme, and "No block system" works for any site.

Good to know

- Pixel Plan reads templates as written. A template name built while the page runs (such as 'partials/block-' ~ type) can't be read that way, so block areas are filled in from your blocks collection.

- Updates install from the Pixel Plan page in one click, checksum-verified.

- Pro licence: A$18.95 once, for every site you build and every 1.x release, with no expiry. Or get all three Pro extensions in the Pro Bundle for A$69.

- Support: [email protected]

Install it

Get the zip from Speedy Websites (opens in a new tab), then drop it on Install Extension on the admin’s Extensions screen. It stays off until you enable it. Or from the command line:

terminal
tcms extension:install ~/Downloads/pixel-plan.zip

Read the docs (opens in a new tab)
