Make form messages look like your site

When a visitor sends a Total CMS form, Total CMS covers the screen with a spinner, then a big tick or a red error message. Blip Notice lets you change how that looks across your whole site, without editing a single page. It's for anyone whose forms (contact, bookings, sign-ups) should feel like part of their design rather than a stock overlay.

What it adds

Blip Notice adds one page to your admin sidebar:

- Seven styles: Total CMS's own look, Frosted glass, Minimal, Solid, Toast (a small card in a corner, so the page stays visible), Bar (a slim bar at the top or bottom) and Hidden.

- Options: your own colours for sending, sent, error and warning; your own "sending" and "sent" messages; six other icons for "sent"; icon size; a bounce or fade animation; blur; and where the toast or bar sits.

- Custom CSS for anything else, with the banner's selectors explained on the page.

- A live preview of your changes over a stand-in page, at full or phone width. Play the real sequence, or hold any state while you adjust it.

Your public pages use the new look as soon as you save, even pages that are cached. The admin keeps Total CMS's own banner, and Reset puts Total CMS's banner back on your site.

Setting it up

Upload the zip in Settings → Extensions, enable it, and open Blip Notice in the sidebar. Pick a style, adjust the options, watch the preview, and click Save. That's all. To leave one particular form with no banner, give it the class no-status-banner.

Good to know

- Free, on any edition of Total CMS 3.6 or later.
- Your page templates must include {{ cms.assetsBody() }}. Site Builder's templates do, and Total CMS's own form script loads through it too.
- It needs the Public Routes and Frontend Assets permissions, which are on when you first install it. It adds one small script to your public pages, which loads your saved style.
- Visitors who ask their device for less motion get no animation.
- Updates install from the Blip Notice page in one click, checksum-verified.
- Support: [email protected]

Install it

Get the zip from Speedy Websites (opens in a new tab), then drop it on Install Extension on the admin’s Extensions screen. It stays off until you enable it. Or from the command line:

terminal
tcms extension:install ~/Downloads/blip-notice.zip

Read the docs (opens in a new tab)
